Helen Atchley worked at the Y-12 Plant during the Manhattan Project. She and her best friend, Dorothy Stinnett, are both pictured in Ed Westcott’s famous photograph of people going to work in the Y-12 Plant.
Paul C. Schafhauser served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Necessary Evil.
Doris Gillette was an east Tennessee native who worked at Oak Ridge and Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
