Two people who worked at Hanford during the Manhattan Project had this name.
Jean Dow Bacher was born in 1907, and grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She married fellow Ann Arbor native and leading Manhattan Project scientist Robert Bacher in 1930.
Steve Buckingham worked as a chemist at the Hanford site beginning in 1947. He understood well how the B Reactor worked and also worked with the T-Plant.
Baxter Ragsdale worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
Helen Atchley worked at the Y-12 Plant during the Manhattan Project. She and her best friend, Dorothy Stinnett, are both pictured in Ed Westcott’s famous photograph of people going to work in the Y-12 Plant.
