Barney J. O’Keefe served in the military as an ensign during the war. He was a member of Project Alberta, the team that transported and assembled the two atomic bombs preceeding the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
McDonald worked in the 200 West Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
Frances T. Janis was a laboratory technician in the Health Division of the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
