Elizabeth Curtis grew up in Haynes, AR, and was the youngest of nine children. In 1934, she married Swep T.
Frederick J. Shon (1926-2000) worked on the Manhattan Project at Columbia University. Born in New York City in 1926, Shon was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Columbia.
Benjamin C. Diven was born in northern California, and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in physics in 1941.
