Robert "Bob" H. Dyer of Harriman and formerly of Oak Ridge, TN passed away Thursday, April 24. He was 84.
Dyer was born in Boston, MA, and graduated from Dartmouth University. He joined the U.S. Army during WWII and was eventually assigned to the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. After the war, he stayed in the city to work at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant as a Department Head and later for the Department of Energy. After retiring from the government, he started a consulting business and remained actively engaged in promoting and improving gaseous diffusion technology.
