Eleanor Roensch was a member of the Women’s Army Corps, deployed to Los Alamos on May 31, 1944. There, she worked as a telephone operator, connecting calls across the worksite.

She was married to Arno Roensch, who also worked on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos.
