Samuel Podgor was born to Russian-migrants in New York City. He served in the Special Engineer Detachment at Los Alamos, NM where he worked in the Theoretical Division under Klaus Fuchs.
Mearns worked in the 100 D Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
Myron Faryna was a 2nd lieutenant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He served as the bombardier of the Necessary Evil, but flew in the Big Stink during the Nagasaki Mission.
Duillio DiCostanzo worked at the shop in the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
