Hubert P. Yockey is an American physicist who studied under J. Robert Oppenheimer at the University of California, Berkeley and worked with him during the Manhattan Project. Yockey was later transferred to Oak Ridge, TN and joined the Health Physics Division, where he studied radiation effects.

After the Manhattan Project, Yockey became interested in information theory, applying it to molecular biology and the origin of life in the universe.
