Before the war, Reynolds worked closely with Ernest Lawrence planning and developing the cyclotrons at the University of California at Berkeley, as well as working in the radiation lab at there.
Cardea Hubbard was a laboratory assistant in the Chemistry Division of the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
George Tom Fike was a corporal in charge of recreation at Los Alamos. As part of the Army Recreation Department, he also operated the radio station at Los Alamos with Bob Porton.
