Monroe Messinger was born in New Jersey and grew up in Brooklyn and Long Island. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of the City of New York.
William E. Caldes studied chemical engineering at Princeton University. In 1943, he was recruited to join the Manhattan Project, and became the 19th project member at Los Alamos.
Anderson worked at the 200 West Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
