Emil J. Konopinski (1911-1990) was an American theoretical physicist. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Konopinski worked as a National Research Council Fellow with Hans Bethe at Cornell University.
William “Willy” Higinbotham (1910-1994) was an American physicist. During the war, Higinbotham worked at Los Alamos as leader of the Electronics Group in the Weapon Physics Division.
Stanley Stewart was the Contracting Officer at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. After the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Stewart wrote, “The security restrictions on our part of the work [at Los Alamos] have been more rigid than than on any other portion of the entire Manhattan Project.
