Edward Bankowski was a part of the 509th Composite Group stationed on Tinian Island in the Pacific. Specifically, Bankowski was an Aircraft Maintenance Chief with the 603rd Air Engineering Squadron from May to November 1945.
Dorothea lived in Chicago and was assigned to Dr. Robert Oppenheimer’s office in Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
