Alan Vorwald was a mathematician in the Special Engineer Detachment at Los Alamos. Vorwald was a part of the theoretical physics division under Hans Bethe and Richard Feynman, specializing in the computing department.
Herbert graduated from Cooper Union College. He held a BS in mechanical engineering and an MS in electrical engineering.
Vaughn worked at the 200 West Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
