Col. Oliver Haywood was on General Leslie Groves‘ staff from May to December 1946. Haywood had a long military career after graduating from West Point in 1936 and receiving both a M.
George Cowan joined the Manhattan Project in 1942 at the Met Lab as a chemist for Enrico Fermi’s group, and also worked for Columbia University.
John was a staff member at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
Horace Hood set up equipment for the J.A. Jones Construction Company in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He and his family lived in Kingsport, Tennessee while Hood commuted to Oak Ridge through a series of security checkpoints each day.
