Gus Essig began working on the Manhattan Project in May, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio. Essig was selected to work in the highly classified initiator program and spent several months at Los Alamos learning how to design and construct initiators.
John T. Conway was an American naval officer, attorney, FBI agent, and government administrator. Conway was born in 1924 in New York City.
Robert Fortenberry worked as a security guard and protected bomb components at Los Alamos during the war.
