Fred Vogel was an American chemical engineer who worked at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. Vogel studied at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and later worked as Chief Engineer for the Cornell Machine Company and for the Centaur Machine Company.
Tom Scolman arrived in Los Alamos shortly after receiving his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Minnesota under renowned physicist Alfred Nier.
Herbert E. Kubitschek (1920-1989) was an American biologist and physicist. He studied under Enrico Fermi at the University of Chicago and was present when Chicago Pile-1, the world’s first self-sustained nuclear chain reaction, went critical on December 2, 1942.
