Preston L. Veltman

Preston Veltman was an American chemist.

 

Veltman was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He studied at Michigan Technological University, and earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. Veltman was recruited to work on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos during World War II. After the war, he later worked for the Washington Research Center of W.R. Grace.

 

Preston Veltman died on March 21, 2000.

Louis Rosen (1918-2009) was an American physicist. A native New Yorker and the son of Polish immigrants, Rosen was personally selected to work on the Manhattan project in Los Alamos while a graduate student in physics at the Pennsylvania State University.
