Reuben McCord was a chemist who worked at several Manhattan Project sites. After graduating from Erskine College in South Carolina, he was recruited to work at the University of Chicago Metallurgical laboratory.

Alfred Pfanstiehl was a junior physicist at the Chicago Met Lab during the Manhattan Project. Pfanstiehl was a signatory of the Szilard Petition, an attempt to avert military use of the atomic bomb against Japan.
Fred Utzman worked for the Edenfield Electric Company.
