Sidney Schneider was an aerial gunner and worked in bomb disposal with the 1027th Air Material Squadron in the 509th Composite Group. Schneider served with the 509th from 1943 to 1945, transferring with the unit from Wendover, Utah to Tinian Island in the Pacific. His primary repsponsibilities were setting fuses, office clerk, bomb disposal, and aerial gunner.
