William P. Jesse was a research associate at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.

According to the Journal of Glenn T. Seaborg (Vol. 2), he was also a group leader in the Control and Instrumentation Section (p. 8). In 1944, he became Section Chief of P-I, Instrumentations, in the Physics Division (Seaborg, Vol. 3, p. 301). Beginning in July 1945, Jesse served as Section Chief of P-II, Treatments (Seaborg, Vol. 4, p. 87).
